Who or What is Influencing My Life?

Over the past few years I have been asking myself “Who or What is Influencing My Life?” I am sure that we all want to live a great and influential life.  I want to, and know that I can live a better life than I did the year before.   But how do I get myself to actually living the life that I want? What changes can I make that will allow me to Live My Best Life?

Changes

Some of the changes I made that have been influential to me are:  paring down the activities on my calendar, limiting the amount of TV that I watch, and controlling the unnecessary obligations in my life so that I have more time to invest in myself:  Spiritually, Physically and Mentally.   I must continually decide who or what will influence my life. 

New Habits

It is up to me to change my bad habits that so that I begin to think differently and in turn will cause me to take different actions.   New Habits, New Thoughts, New Actions  (i.e when I decided it was time to live a healthier life style I started taking a new route to work (to avoid McDonalds) and I packed a gym bag and put it in my car the night before (to eliminate my excuses not to work out after work).  Being consistent with the new habit of going to the gym, resulted in thoughts of being a healthy  which then created new actions in my life.

Change to be Different

Listening to books and podcasts that provoke thoughts and actions has been an almost constant in my ear buds over this past year.   I love being inspired and motivated to action with ideas that improve my life.   I have a wide genre of respected authors and speakers that I listen to weekly.

The authors and speakers that I listen have both “failed and succeeded” and they give me aa different perspective. Habits have been a topic I have been learning about. I knew I had to change my habits in order to have a new outcome in my life.  I get to decide who and what was going to influence my life. 

Thoughts

These are a few things that I heard that grabbed my attention over the past few weeks.

  • Fear Causes Procrastination
  • Movements Brings Momentum
  • You are in Control of YOUR Actions
  • Don’t allow others to tell you Who YOU are
  • Be the Best Version of Yourself
  • We Are the Stories We Tell Ourselves – We Can Change the Story

The quality of decisions we make will determine the quality of the life we will have

Shut off the remote and turn on some good music or pick up a great book to get your thoughts pumping and start to moving forward.  Take Action

This past summer I took action and completed some classes to learn more about how to start a business and how to use certain aspects of social media.  OK we all know the ladder is a moving target so it will be something that I will continually have to learn about in order to stay up on the latest tools and tricks.

Who or What is Influencing Your Life?  How will you take action to improve your life? You get to decide how you will live your best life now and in the future
