Often life events are not something you can control like when losing a family member or a friend, but you can make life choices that either enhance your life or take your life in a difficult direction. It is never too late to make better decisions that will create a brighter future. As the saying goes: If you don’t like where you are, then change it, you are not a tree.

Our choices are often influenced by the friends that we do life with. My mom often told me that my friends would make or break me. I thought I made my own choices and my friends didn’t have anything to do with it. Boy…… was I wrong.

Over the course of a life time our friends will influence us both for the good and Not So Good choices that we make. Most people like being part of a community. That community gives you opportunities to learn and grow based on those around us.
My parents made sacrifices to give me the opportunities to meet and spend time with great people. The schools, churches, groups and camp that I attended all influenced my future opportunities and decisions. At the time I never thought about how the impact some of my decisions would make in my future and I let life happen to me. I have since learned to make better choices that would shape my future self.
